EFR Primary and Secondary Care


The Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care program covers all aspects of first aid training.  The participants will finish with the ability to first assess the scene, manage the emergency and take care of the injured or ill people involved.  This course is equivilent to Level 1 first aid.

The course is split up into two parts, Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid).

The Primary Care covers emergencies that are imediately life threatening.  To make you confident in managing a Primary Care emergency you will develop your skills by doing both knowledge development sessions and skills practice, then  participating in relealistic scenarios to cement your knowedge.

The primary Care Skills are listed below.

Scene Assessment, Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Rescue Breathing, CPR, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management and Spinal Injury Management.   

As an added extra you'll get a free orientation and practice in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and learn how to administer oxygen.

The Secondary Care (First Aid) part of the program covers skills to aid someone with injuries  or illnesses that are not immediatly life threatening.  You'll go through the same steps for training, knowledge development, skills practice then onto realistic scenario practice.

The Secondary Care Skills are listed below.

Injury Assessment, Illness Assessment, Bandaging and Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures.

First aid courses are suitable for all ages.  First Aid skills are easy to learn and may help you save the life of someone you love.
