Terms and Conditions

  1. The applicant applies to First Aid Skills for a 30-day credit account from the date of the invoice. Should this application be accepted by First Aid Skills, the applicant agrees to settle the credit account within the agreed terms mentioned above.
  2. If this application is accepted, the applicant agrees that the credit account and any contract between the applicant and First Aid Skills will be subject to the usual Terms and Conditions of Sale & Code of Practice, a copy of which can be provided upon request.
  3. In the event that the overdue account is referred to a collection agency or law firm, the applicant will be liable for all costs incurred as if the debt were collected in full, including legal demand costs.
  4. The applicant agrees to notify First Aid Skills of any changes in the constitution or structure of the applicant’s business or the sale of the business. The applicant will remain liable for any outstanding amounts on the account opened on their behalf until written notice is received by First Aid Skills stating that the applicant has changed its constitution or structure or has sold its business, and the account has been closed with full payment made.
  5. Ownership of goods remains with First Aid Skills until full and final settlement is made.
  6. The applicant agrees that First Aid Skills has sole discretion to cancel or modify this agreement should the applicant fail to meet the purchase levels or agreed terms outlined in the application.
  7. First Aid Skills may request or supply information related to this credit application from credit rating agencies or other credit providers as permitted under the Privacy Act (1988).

Terms and Conditions for Training Courses

1.1 Disclaimer

(a) Public Training Courses (including first aid training) offered by First Aid Skills provide essential skills and knowledge in first aid management but do not constitute a medical qualification. First Aid Skills accepts no responsibility for any actions taken by customers following their training.

(b) Public Training Courses involve moderate physical activity, including kneeling and bending. First Aid Skills does not accept any responsibility for any harm caused by your participation in the training sessions.

1.2 Enrolment

(a) Enrolment

(i) Before attending any course with First Aid Skills, you are required to complete an enrolment form and may also need to meet additional prerequisites, including but not limited to: (A) Language, literacy, and numeracy; (B) Workplace experience; (C) Completion of other qualifications and units of competency; (D) Computer and internet access; (E) Proof of meeting any applicable “working with vulnerable persons” requirements.

(ii) Upon completing the enrolment form and receiving payment, First Aid Skills will issue an electronic receipt and a confirmation email verifying your enrolment.

(b) Unique Student Identifier (USI)

(i) All customers must provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to First Aid Skills before a Statement of Attainment can be issued (unless a USI Exemption has been granted by the Department of Education and Training). Additional information may be required for certain courses. First Aid Skills will inform customers of any extra requirements at the time of booking.

(ii) A USI is a mandatory reference number that ensures an individual’s training and qualifications are kept together across Australia. A certificate/SOA cannot be issued without a verified USI.

(iii) For more information or to create a USI, visit www.usi.gov.au. Once you have your USI number, please record it in your customer details through the My First Aid Skills Customer Portal. A USI is required to receive your certificate.

(iv) The Handbook outlines situations where customers can seek an exemption from obtaining a USI and the consequences of doing so. For more information on USI exemptions, visit www.usi.gov.au/exemptions.

1.3 Conduct of Customers in Public Training Courses

(a) The Handbook outlines the code of conduct for customers undertaking training with First Aid Skills, which includes: (i) Regular and punctual attendance (If you arrive after the course start time, you may not be admitted due to the impracticalities and disruption of making up lost time in a time-sensitive group setting); (ii) Completion of coursework and assessments; (iii) Responsible, respectful, and cooperative behaviour; (iv) Adherence to safety protocols; and (v) Preparedness to work effectively in class.

(b) Anyone who violates these terms may be asked to leave their course or session.

(c) First Aid Skills reserves the right to terminate a customer’s participation in a course if they fail to follow the directions, policies, or procedures provided by the trainer and assessor.

1.4 Transfers, Cancellations, and Refund Policy for Training Courses

(a) Policy
Enrolment is accepted with the understanding that First Aid Skills will not be held responsible for any costs incurred due to course cancellation or rescheduling. First Aid Skills will make reasonable efforts to notify customers of course changes, and the cancellation conditions will not apply if First Aid Skills cancels a training course.

(b) Training Transfers
(i) If you are unable to attend the course as originally booked, you can request a transfer for Public Training Courses by contacting First Aid Skills Customer Service at +61 468 476 056 between 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
(ii) Transfers after starting a course are subject to First Aid Skills’ discretion and course availability.
(iii) Transfers made at least 5 business days before the original course start date are free of charge.
(iv) A $50.00 administration fee applies if the transfer request is made less than 5 business days before the original course start date.
A new date must be chosen at the time of the transfer request. The course must be attended and completed within 90 days of the original course start date. If a transferred course takes place more than 90 days after the original course date, the original fee paid will be forfeited.

(c) Cancellations by Customer
(i) To receive a full refund, cancellations must be made by contacting First Aid Skills Customer Service at +61 468 476 056 or emailing admin@firstaidskills.com.au at least 5 business days before the course starts.
(ii) Cancellation requests made less than 5 business days before the course will not be refunded.
(iii) If you cancel a course where resources have already been dispatched (such as Virtual First Aid training packs), the cost of the training pack will not be refunded, and part of the customer fee may be retained.

(d) Cancellations by First Aid Skills
(i) First Aid Skills reserves the right to cancel any course at any time.
(ii) If this occurs, you will be notified before the course starts and will be given the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

(e) Unable to Attend or Arriving Late
(i) No refund will be provided if you notify First Aid Skills after the course has already commenced or if you have arranged a voluntary transfer.
(ii) If you cannot attend the course or arrive late, and the trainer and assessor do not accept late entry, you must notify First Aid Skills Customer Service by email (admin@firstaidskills.com.au) to reschedule.
(iii) If you are unable to attend on the day of the course, you must notify First Aid Skills Customer Service by phone at +61 468 476 056. Email notifications will not be accepted.

(f) Leaving After Starting the Course
If you leave a course after beginning a session or fail to attend a subsequent session of the same course (either on the same day or a different day), then:
(i) The course is not transferable, and no refund will be given;
(ii) Any rebooking of a replacement course will be treated as a new booking, with a new payment required; and
(iii) A credit transfer is not available for any Unit of Competency from the course you abandoned.
However, if you leave due to personal illness or emergency (e.g., family death or accident), or fail to attend due to similar personal reasons or a local emergency (e.g., flooding), and you provide reasonable evidence (such as a medical certificate or emergency confirmation), you may transfer the course by paying a $50 transfer fee (inc. GST) at the time of booking.

1.5 Not Yet Competent (NYC)

(i) To receive accreditation, customers must meet the assessment criteria outlined in the Handbook and any other criteria communicated to customers from time to time.
(ii) If you are deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC), you will have the opportunity to attend the unit(s) marked as NYC and a re-examination, which must be completed within 6 weeks of the original course date by contacting First Aid Skills Customer Service at +61 468 476 056 or emailing admin@firstaidskills.com.au.
(iii) The Handbook provides additional information on reassessment procedures.

1.6 Workplace Group Onsite Training

For on-site Workplace Training Courses, cancellation or transfer fees will apply if the course is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 5 business days’ notice before the course start date. A cancellation fee of 50% of the course fees will apply. The notice of intent to cancel must be emailed to admin@firstaidskills.com.au.
